Establishing guidelines and standards for BCAOMP members' conduct and practice.

The British Columbia Association of Osteopaths Manual Practitioners main responsibilities include: Developing standards of admission to the profession of manual osteopathy in British Columbia;

  • Establishing guidelines and standards for BCAOMP members’ conduct and practice;
  • Developing programs to help BCAOMP manual osteopaths maintain and improve their knowledge and skills;
  • Investigating complaints and reports;
  • Disciplining members who have committed acts of professional misconduct or who are incompetent or incapacitated.

Who We Are

British Columbia Association of Osteopaths Manual Practitioners (BCAOMP) is a voluntary self-governing body, established by the manual osteopathy profession in British Columbia.BCAOMP is committed to improving the health and well-being of people of British Columbiaby informing the public and assuring them of competent and ethical manual osteopathic care.
BCAOMP examines, registers and supervises the manual osteopathy profession on a voluntary basis. BCAOMP sets requireme
nts for entry to the manual osteopathy profession for its members, registers manual osteopaths as members, sets standards of practice and guidelines for professional practice of its members, monitors competence through a peer assessment,
investigates complaints against manual osteopaths who are its members and disciplines those members who have committed acts of professional misconduct or who are incompetent or incapacitated.
